ABOUT
No Disclaimer
Surf the internet and go through the multitude of urban exploration websites out there, and you'll probably find one very common string between them (other than the urban exploration part of it, I mean). That thing would probably be a disclaimer. These disclaimers say things like "don't try this at home, for entertainment purposes only, maybe these things are true but maybe they're not"... Stuff like that.
For a while I did something very similar on my own exploration site, but I've come to the realization that it's not really that necessary. Though people are generally lazy, they're not generally stupid. I would think that most people would understand that climbing through a broken window into a collapsing steel mill would be somewhat dangerous.
Too many people drift through life and ignore the wondrous things around them because that's what we've been trained to do. I hope that my website, and scores of others, might make people open their eyes a little wider and take in life on a different level.
So, as a wise man once said, "no disclaimer. Not for your entertainment only. Please do try this at home".
About Me (Crossfire)
Hi there. As you may have guessed I go by the psuedonym Crossfire on the 'net, but I'm more commonly known as Rob. I am a 33 year old graphic designer, urban explorer, sci-fi fan and gamer-geek from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I'm married, and have a little boy.
I've been exploring abandoned places since I was 12 years old, but got involved in the online community about four years ago. Most of my exploring is done with a group of guys who have adopted the name MECCA - Midnight Exploration Crew Canada. We're a tight-knit gang of six or seven guys from the Golden Triangle region.
As I said, I'm a total gamer geek. I started playing Dungeons & Dragons when I was about ten years old, and I still do. I also play such games as Warhammer Fantasy Role Play, Silver Age Sentinels and some others. I'm also a video game fan, spending a few hours a week joining friends in Battlefield 2 (check me out on XFire as crossfire.ue).
I like comics, fantasy and sci-fi novels, movies, biking, hiking, skiing, baseball and spending time with my wife.
I hope you enjoy perusing my website. Please feel free to contact me via email, or check out the sidebar to find some other methods of getting in touch with UEKW.
