Please take a moment to think of those killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center five years ago, their familes and the survivors.
I have finished Creepers and have posted a review of it here. I've never reviewed a book before. I hope mine doesn't suck.

Wow. A two-month break from the website. Understandable, as my wife gave birth to our son at the end of July. I haven't had any time to do any updating or even get out on any explorations. I've missed out on some fun ones, too. I did, however, manage to inspect a local high school that going to be torn down soon and that was exciting.
Other news; I received my review copy of Creepers by David Morrell. I'm only fifty pages in, but devouring it. For any urban explorers or people interested in UE, it's a good read. It depicts explorers in a true a light as possible; not door-smashing vandals, but people passionate about history and the unknown.

The Kitchener / Waterloo regional urban exploration meet was a big success. We had about thirteen or fourteen explorers and interested parties join us for a good get-together at the Huether Hotel's Barley Works pub for food and drink. Afterwards, a group of about nine of us went off to do some 'splorin at a well-known industrial location in Guelph.
Also updated the exploration section to get rid of some of the outdated "New" icons.

The Anti-UER campaign begins... a reaction to the lies, treachery and deceit practiced by Avatar-X and his Yes-Men moderators on the UER message boards; explorers who aren't even worthy enough to carry my spare flashlight batteries. You'll see a lot of UE websites proudly sporting this logo.

The message board is finally back in running order. I had to move to another service, but that's okay. The guys running Minimanga work really hard, so there's no hard feelings that they weren't able to recover the old board after the crash.
Speaking of Minimanga, I spent some time in Montréal a short while ago. It wasn't a UE trip, but whoo-boy, I wish it had been. That city has tonnes of potential for urban exploration. I'm very jealous of the Montréal-based explorers!
The article I was interviewed for should be out soon...

I had a very successful trip to an unused hospital in the Muskokas over the weekend. About a dozen explorers from Barrie, London, Kitchener, Cambridge, Milton and elsewhere converged on the location and spent 3 hours or so exploring. I got some great photos (accessible through the Institutional section of the Explorations page).
I also attended a Photoshop CS2 Power Tour seminar in Toronto on March 28th and utilized some of the tips I learned there to put together this nice shot of one of my more favourite images from my trip to Muskoka (Dial-Up Warning; Image Exceeds 500kb).

We've had some downtime, but things are almost back up and running now. The message board is not fully operational yet, but it will be, soon.
I've been asked to do an interview for an article on urban exploration that's going to appear in a local indie magazine and I'm excited to see the results. It is supposed to be out later this spring - so I'll post here once I get some more information.

We have a message forum! I have set up a message board for urban explorers in the Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge, and London regions here on UEKW. It is a private message board for people local to these areas. If you're interested in seeing what we're talking about, please email me with your requested username and password to get an account and join in on the discussions.
In other news, some of my photos were taken from my online gallery and used on someone else's website, the credit taken by another photographer. I don't know whether to be upset, or feel good about someone wanting to take credit for my work!

The Golden Triangle meet went really well. Ten locals attended and we had a good night of drinks, chat, and exploration. Check the Industrational section of my Explorations for the photos, in the gallery named "Lofty Goals".

Major site update! Added most of Dark Shadow's photos to the Exploration albums, which give me somewhere in the neighbourhood of fifteen new photo albums to show off. The majority of Dark's photos are in the residential area, but he has some more scattered about. Look for the icon. Dark Shadow, Frost and I also scouted out some new Golden Triangle locations around Guelph, and explored a very interesting location thanks to the eagle-eyed oddspot, a fellow local explorer. I hope to have those images available soon.

Tonight is the local UE meet-up, the second one we've held with about fifteen to twenty people showing up. Look for photos from that as well.

It's been a long time since UEKW was online and updated. Don't worry, I'm doing my best to get things rolling again. Most of all I've been having a problem finding a way to set up the galleries in a way I like. Since my gallery was hacked a while back, I've been very concerned about how I get it set up again.

Explored The Big Dark with MECCA. I didn't have a camera that night, but everyone else did. I'll snag their photos and post some stills from the video that I did get.
